How Comb Filters can be used in GNSS Receivers
نویسنده
چکیده
This is a non-refereed presentation that examines the use of comb filters in GNSS receivers, reviewing some of the discussion recently presented in [1]. Because the GPS L1 C/A code signal has a spectrum made up of lines regularly spaced at 1kHz intervals, the use of comb filters, which have regularly spaced passor stop-bands, would on the face of it seem a logical step. It is shown, however, that each satellite channel would require its own comb filter, and that it can help with the speed of acquisition of weak signals in a sequential acquisition algorithm. It may also assist in the code tracking loop. There are some applications, such as search engines and FFT acquisition, where comb filters give little or no benefit.

Use of Comb Filters in GPS L1 Receivers
Comb filters can be designed by replacing single delays in digital filters by multiple delays. These filters are " periodic " in the sense that their frequency response repeats itself at fixed intervals. They are thus well suited to a signal such as GPS L1 which has a spectrum made up of lines separated by the code repetition frequency of 1 kHz. In this paper we examine how periodic filters can...

Measurements of the dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can be used to calculate the electron density and the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere layer of the Earth atmosphere. TEC is a key parameter for investigating the ongoing spatial and temporal physical process of the ionosphere. For accurate estimation of TEC from GPS measurements, GPS satellites and GPS r...
متن کاملA Novel Sampling Approach in GNSS-RO Receivers with Open Loop Tracking Method
Propagation of radio occultation (RO) signals through the lower troposphere results in high phase acceleration and low signal to noise ratio signal. The excess Doppler estimation accuracy in lower troposphere is very important in receiving RO signals which can be estimated by sliding window spectral analysis. To do this, various frequency estimation methods such as MUSIC and ESPRIT can be adopt...

Bandpass sampling architectures, also called subsampling architectures, exhibit several advantages over super-het architectures. First, the complexity of subsampling architectures is significantly lower since no Phased-Locked-Loop (PLL) is required. A direct consequence is that downconversion from RF to IF can be achieved with significant power savings as compared to the super-het architecture....
متن کاملA Concurrent Dual-Band Low Noise Amplifier for GNSS Receivers
In this paper, a new design of concurrent dual-band Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for multi-band single-channel Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers is proposed. This new structure is able to operate concurrently at frequency of 1.2 and 1.57 GHz. Parallel and series resonance parts are employed in the input matching in order to achieve concurrent performance. With respect to used pse...
